Severe Storms Thursday Update

Severe thunderstorms impacted Sydney and the Central Coast yesterday evening. The weather has eased overnight and many Western Sydney suburbs were the worst hit. NSW SES received just over 860 jobs (448 completed) and 4 Flood Rescues since 2pm Wednesday.
Across NSW the worst affected locations include:
- Mount Druitt area with 230 jobs
- Blacktown 93 jobs
- Penrith 80
- The Hills 107
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a few minor flood warnings for Bogan, Severn, Orara, and Clarence Rivers. For view all current weather warnings visit http://bit.ly/1GMdB5x
Further storms are expected inland this afternoon and with a current Severe Thunderstorm Warning for heavy rain for parts of the state’s Central and North West. Locations which may be affected include Dubbo, Parkes, Coonabarabran, Wellington, Condobolin and Nyngan. (CANCELLED AT 6:37am)

As NSW SES volunteers will continue to complete outstanding jobs this morning, we urge residents to prepare now for storms by cleaning gutters and downpipes, double checking to make sure your roof is in good repair and secure any loose items around the home that could blow around in strong wind.
